Terry’s b-day party

Terry really wanted to go on a zip line & to the Crocodile farm for her birthday, so Matt (husband of Krys, who is our director at Mercy) took us to their zip line.  Here is their website….http://www.outlandadventure.org/index.htm

Matt picked us up at 9:00 am & drove us to Outland Adventure.  After giving us a tour & explaining what they are doing for the youth here – 3 day camps that they do the rope course & zip lines, while sharing the gospel throughout – we geared up for The Repentor.  This one is the longest of the two.  We all sat for this one.

Then we rode The Xcelerator.  This is the fastest & highest of the two.  Most of us did the Superman pose – though in this case – we did the Superwoman pose! :)  Both of them were so much fun!

We then ate at Jack’s Ridge.  The view is amazing!   See the ocean?!  Julie, Kamarie & I split some meals.  We had Tulapia – a kind of fish, Blue Marlin, Beef Broccoli, Shanghai Rice & one other dish.  They were SO good!

Crocodile Park was full of crocs.  They had at least 6 pens full of crocs of various sizes & ages.  Some were only 1 1/2 feet long, & the longest croc was 16 feet.

They also had small goat-sized deer,

& various reptiles.

A short walk away, they had a beautiful butterfly garden, where there were day-old caterpillars, pupas, & butterflies.

After Lydia, Terry, & I visited the butterflies, we headed back to the crocs to watch the show. The show consisted of watching animals do tricks & showing off the power of the 16 foot crocodile.

When we got home, we had dessert & a surprise wedding party for Lydia! She is getting married 3 weeks after arriving home – 5 weeks from now!!

Various pictures of our day…..

  1. Wow! What a fun adventure you all had. The parrot and the butterflies are gorgeous, and that eagle is quite a handsome bird.

    16-foot crocodile?? Oh help.

    That zipline looks incredible!

    God bless,

  2. Wow! What a fun day. Jordan nonchalantly glazed over the details. That zip line is over a half mile in length, and you can reach speeds up to 60 mph. If you want to get a taste for what she experienced, just stick your head out the window on the freeway. :)

Looks like everyone had a great time.

  3. Jordan's mother says that when the adventure bug bit Jordan, it gave her a big dose and life has not been the same since! She is enjoying witnessing Jordan's love of life.... although, my dear, don't expect to eat like that when you return... just meat, potatoes, beans, rice and, of course, split pea soup! LOL
